Did you know about Poltergeist?

Wikipedia explains, “Poltergeist (help•info) (from German poltern, meaning to make noise, and Geist, meaning "ghost" or "spirit"), or recurrent spontaneous psychokinesis (RSPK) denotes an ostensibly paranormal phenomenon attributed to an an invisible spirit or ghost that manifests itself by moving and influencing objects, generally in a particular location such as a house or room or place within a house.” In other cases the phenomena may be produced by subconscious psychokinesis (PK) on the part of an individual.
Poltergeist phenonenon comprises activities that are mostly rains of stones, grub and other small objects along with loud noise and vile odour. Poltergeists should not be mistaken as ghosts. They are considered as spirits who try to interact with the material world with a malevolent force. One instance can be cited in this regard about a scientist Vladistav Bukreev, who witnessed the harrowing and terrifying period of an English family living in London during the time period of 1977- 1978. They were plagued by severe poltergeist activity. He was a witness to activitieslike stones and bricks falling down inside the house and things floating in the air. The entire family had horrible bite marks on their bodies and two girls were lifted up in the air.
As the ancient thought goes, Poltergeists were related to demons because both demonic and poltergeist had similar manifestations. Accounts of early poltergeist activity can be found in the work of ancient Roman writer Titus Livius, "Ab Urbe Condita," wherein a shower of stones scared the Roman army. Other notable records of poltergeist activity involving people being dragged away from their beds by unseen forces and of unexplainable fires were written by Jacob Grimm in his work "Deustche Mythologie." Given the largely superstitious atmosphere of that time, poltergeist activity was readily attributed to demonic powers.
Poltergeist disturbances have occurred globally since ancient times. “In the late 1970s parapsychologists Alan Gauld and A. D. Cornell did a computer analysis of those cases collected since 1800 to that time. They identified sixty-three general characteristics, which include the following: 64 percent involved the movement of small objects; 58 percent were most active at night; 48 percent featured raps; 36 percent involved movement of large objects; 24 percent lasted longer than one year; 16 percent featured communication between the poltergeist and agent; 12 percent involved the opening and shutting of doors and windows.” Parapsychologist Roll even went as far as to name the phenomenon as "recurrent spontaneous psychokinesis or RSPK. This refers to the expression of intense emotion like hostility, anger, and sexual tension from a human agent which causes inexplicable physical manifestations such as levitation. The agent is usually oblivious to the fact the he or she caused the disturbance because it is the subconscious mind which found a way to release any repressed emotion through psychokinesis.”
This poltergeist activity is named as Fae in Irish folklore and they believe it to be a creature like element. Many even have said that this force is often release by teens during their turbulent emotional as well as physical transformation. Poltergeistas are still being resaerched on. But they do exist. Andthis is documented. The mystery yet needs to be solved to decide whether poltergeists are paranormal elements or a human disturbance. For now you can very well read an interesting story on the same about Borley Rectory Poltergeist.
